StillFire Brewing in Suwanee celebrates its second anniversary from noon to midnight on Saturday, featuring food from l8Sweet Treats, Cattywampus, and Q’Paso Latin Grub, as well as, live music, and more fun stuff.

You can try several of StillFire’s award-winning beers, including Kilt Chamberlin Scotch Ale, which won a Bronze Medal at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival. The even bigger second anniversary version, Thoroughly Good Scotch Ale, which was aged for 18 months in ASW Distillery bourbon barrels, will be available in limited supply, too.

And with that, the original StillFire Kilt Chamberlain is this week’s Beer Pick.

StillFire Kilt Chamberlain Scotch Ale

StillFire Brewing, Suwanee, GA

Available on draft and in 16-ounce cans

Profile

Kilt Chamberlain, a multi-award-winning Scotch Ale brewed by StillFire brewmaster Phil Farrell, most recently won a Bronze Medal at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival.

A traditional style from the Scottish Highlands, where malt was more readily available than hops, Farrell’s version features a grain bill with Golden Promise, caramel malt, and bit of peat malt, plus Golden hops, and a Scottish yeast strain.

The result is a complex blend of caramel, dark fruit, and chocolate aromas and flavors, with a hint of smoke. At 8.8% alcohol, Kilt Chamberlain is a strong beer that will warm you up during the cooler fall weather ahead.

Pair with

Try Kilt Chamberlain with hearty beef, venison, duck or pheasant dishes, or for dessert with flan or creme brûlée.
