Spanish tapas restaurant Boqueria is set to open this month in Midtown.

Located at 1221 Peachtree St. NE in mixed-use development Colony Square, Boqueria will debut Jan. 21 with a menu of Spanish-inspired food and cocktails.

Starters on the menu include gambas al ajillo (shrimp cooked in chili olive oil with garlic), pulpo a la plancha (grilled octopus with fennel, smoked pimentón and crushed potatoes), pintxos morunos (marinated lamb skewers served with salsa verde) and patatas bravas (crispy potatoes with spicy tomato sauce and aioli). Also on offer are boards with Spanish cured meats like Jamon Ibérico and cheese including manchego and mahon.

The menu also offers paellas such as paella de mariscos with saffron rice, seafood and salsa verde and a braised short rib paella with Turkish figs and roasted bone marrow. Other highlights include the Ibérico mac and cheese, chicken wings with a sweet and sour Pedro Ximenez reduction, and beef sliders with a sobrasada-bacon jam and Manchego cheese crisps.

Desserts include churros served hot chocolate dipping sauce.

Boqueria’s social hour menu, served from 3-6 p.m. daily and 9 p.m.-close Thursdays-Saturdays, features three martinis for $7-$8 and eight $7 tapas. The restaurant’s weekend brunch menu offers dishes including huevos estrellados (shoestring French fries with truffle potato cream, Jamón Serrano and fried egg) and torrija (crispy French toast stuffed with sweet mita crema and blackberry compote).

The beverage program, led by certified sommelier Lynne White, features an all-Spanish wine list with more than a dozen wines by the glass and craft cocktails including the Ibérico old-fashioned (Jamón Ibérico fat-washed bourbon and Angostura bitters) and a white Negroni washed with paella rice (gin, Faccia Bruto Centerbe, Luxardo Bitter Bianco and Atxa white vermouth).

The list also includes a shishito margarita, four different styles of Sangria and a selection of sherries and vermouths.

Designer Alexa Nafisi of Adean Studios incorporated Belle Epoque elements such as dark green walls, artisanal tile, white oak banquettes, decorative arches, wood accents and pendant light fixtures. The 5,755-square-foot space also features foliage, Spanish products displayed along illuminated wood shelves, an open kitchen, chandeliers with ribbed glass and antique brass.

The restaurant has a 118-seat dining room, 24-seat private dining space, a 36-seat bar area, and large patio.

Opening hours are 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Weekday lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekend brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Boqueria comes from Yann de Rochefort, who opened the first location in 2006 in New York City as an homage to his childhood summers spent in Barcelona and the Balearic islands. The chain has since expanded to 11 locations between Washington, D.C., Chicago, Nashville, Boston and West Hartford.

Boqueria will join several other food and beverage concepts at Colony Square, including Holeman & Finch, Serena Pastafico, Tandoori Pizza & Wing Co. and the Politan Row at Colony Square food hall.
