More than 10 restaurants closed in metro Atlanta in January, including five in the west Midtown area and a pizza spot that opened just before the pandemic shutdowns in 2020.

Bruxie. The waffle sandwich eatery closed less than a year after opening at 5126 Peachtree Boulevard in Chamblee. The California-based chain served a menu of sweet and savory waffle and fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, salad, breakfast sandwiches and milkshakes.

Culinary Dropout. The west Midtown location of Culinary Dropout closed at 1000 Marietta St. NW in the Brickworks development. The eatery, from the restaurant group behind restaurants including Flower Child and North Italia, opened in late 2023. A Dunwoody location that opened in early 2024 remains open.

Don Fausto’s. The Cuban stall in the Politan Row at Colony Square food hall closed after less than a year. It was replaced by Caribbean food stall Irie Mon.

Fishmonger. The Michelin-recommended seafood restaurant closed its temporary west Midtown location, with plans to open its permanent location down the street at Star Metals this spring.

Halford’s. The metal bar, which took over the former Corner Tavern space in Little Five Points about two months ago, has closed because the property is being sold, according to a post on the bar’s Instagram account. The owner is looking for a new location.

Humble Pie. The pizza restaurant from Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips of Lazy Betty closed in the Interlock in west Midtown after nearly three years. The closure was announced on the restaurant’s Instagram account.

Loyal Brew & Q. The barbecue restaurant and tavern, which opened in 2018, closed at 3655 Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta. Another Loyal Q & Brew in East Cobb reopened as Loyal Tavern and closed in 2019.

Ms. Icey’s Kitchen & Bar. The Decatur bar, which opened in 2018, announced its temporary closure in a post on its Instagram account, though the post didn’t specify when the restaurant would reopen.

Postino WineCafe. The west Midtown location of the wine bar and restaurant closed in the Brickworks development after almost two years. A location in Buckhead remains open.

Ruchi Bangladeshi Cuisine. The restaurant, which Amit Shapta opened in 2017 when he was 22 years old, has closed in Chamblee, with plans to relocate. Souper Jenny’s will take over the space.

Snooze an a.m. Eatery. The west Midtown location of the breakfast chain closed, though several other metro Atlanta locations remain open.

Triple Jay’s Pizza. The pizzeria, which started out as a food truck, closed its brick-and-mortar location in Midtown after about five years.

In future closure news, Tin Roof Cantina on Briarcliff Road announced on Instagram that its building has been sold and it will be closing in the near future.
