Temps will stay in the 40s through Tuesday morning, according to Channel 2 Action News. Chilly conditions will also stick around.

Temperatures will fail to reach the 53-degree average high for this day.

Temps were 40 degrees in Atlanta, 38 in Blairsville and 41 in Griffin at 9 p.m. Monday, Channel 2 reported.

Week after Christmas into the first of the year will bring above average temps, according to the new 8-14 day Climate Prediction Center Outlook. Lower heating bills in the offing!

Temperatures are expected to warm again before falling back down, Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Expect warmer temperatures as the Christmas holiday approaches.

Highs are forecast to start increasing again Saturday. And by Christmas Day Sunday, temps will be in the 60s.

Temperatures will increase, and only a slight rain chance exists Christmas weekend.

The next chance of rain is Wednesday, when there is a 20 percent chance of precipitation. Rain chances go up to 30 percent on Thursday.

A 20 percent rain chance will return Saturday, followed by a 30 percent chance Christmas Day.
