A tornado damaged a Henry County home Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed.

The tornado, classified as “a very brief EF-0” touched down southeast of Locust Grove in the southern part of the county at 2:12 p.m., uprooting several trees along the north side of Ga. 42 between Barnes Drive and Davis Road.

The storm, which reached a maximum wind speed of about 75 mph, collapsed the front and side porches of the house, according to the Weather Service.

It was the second tornado to touch down in metro Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon. The first was in Forest Park about 40 minutes earlier.
