Despite the evening commute winding down, roads may remain busy as football and baseball fans head to the various sporting events around Atlanta.

Kennesaw State will visit Georgia State at 7 p.m. in their college football season opener, the Falcons play their final exhibition game against the Miami Dolphins at 7 p.m., and the Braves take on the Chicago Cubs at 7:35 p.m.

Expect heavy traffic on all roads leading to Georgia State Stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and SunTrust Park.

Metro Atlanta was mostly spared of rain Thursday afternoon, but a 30 percent chance of showers remains for the evening, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Friday’s and Saturday’s rain chances hover around 30 percent, but this holiday weekend is looking drier, Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

“By the weekend, rain chances are diminishing,” she said. “We’re going down to about 20 percent for Sunday and Monday.”
