It may be spring, but it feels like summer with the 90-degree temperatures.
It reached 90 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Atlanta had not seen temps in the 90s since Sept. 25.
That pushes the city near record-breaking territory, which was set in 1962 at 91 degrees, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
The average high for this time of year is 80 degrees.
“Your (air conditioner is) going to be running full blast today,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. “The car’s going to get hot, and don’t leave your pets in the car.”
The pollen count was up to 23 particles per cubic meter of air, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
