Atlanta reached the 70s, but just barely.
“What a beautiful weather day we had today: 70 degrees, low humidity and light winds — just a gorgeous day overall,” Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.
Currently, the temperature is 61 degrees in Atlanta.
While the 70s didn’t last long, plan to get outside during the week. Temperatures are forecast to hit 76 Thursday, 79 Friday and 80 Saturday.
Those high temperatures, however, aren’t expected to help with the yellow stuff.
“If you can stand the pollen, it’s a nice day to be outside,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
Wednesday’s pollen count of 5,098 was the highest since April 9, 2015, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
Amazing what a little sun can do! No rain and warm temperatures through the rest of the week likely means a really tough week for allergy sufferers!

“There is hope for some rain to wash some of this pollen away for part of the weekend,” Nitz said.
Atlanta faces a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday. Then, a cold front is expected to move into the area and the chance of rain increases to 90 percent Sunday, Channel 2 reported. The projected high is 66 degrees Sunday.
“If you’re making plans now for the weekend, Saturday is your day to get outdoors,” Nitz said.
