This Southwest credit card is offering one of its best bonuses yet

Traveling Tips From Veteran Flight Attendants

There’s no better time than now to get a Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card in your wallet — the card, issued by Chase, is offering a welcome bonus of up to 100,000 Rapid Rewards points. That’s about $1,400 in Southwest airfare; enough to buy multiple round-trip tickets, or that flight to Hawaii you’ve been dreaming about.

Southwest Airlines serves 100-plus destinations, including spots like Aruba, Maui, Montego Bay, Cancun and Belize.

New cardholders must spend a total of $12,000 in the first year of opening an account to earn all 100,000 points, but users can earn half by spending $2,000 in the first three months.

To take advantage of this deal, you must apply and be approved by Dec. 7. It is available to anyone opening a new Rapid Rewards Plus, Premier, or Priority card.

Worry not existing cardholders, there’s something for you too. Although you may not qualify for a welcome bonus, Southwest’s Rapid Rewards Plus and Premier cards now come with two EarlyBird check-ins each year without an increase in your annual fee — a priceless perk. Points can also be earned by making in-flight purchases, spending money on local transit and certain streaming services.
