The annual list of the World’s 50 Best Bars has officially been released. Snagging the top spot is a dimly lit bar in Barcelona.

Bars in the U.S. took 9 of the 50 spots, with 2 landing in the list’s top 10. Here are the top three, as well as a few of the American bars that did well.

Paradiso

Paradiso in Barcelona, Spain, came in at number one. It’s known as one of the best cocktail-bar experiences, with signature drinks that are carefully crafted. The bar also wants to teach you how to make a drink Paradiso style.

Tayēr + Elementary, London

Tayēr + Elementary in London is actually two bars. At Tayēr, the combination of modern techniques and old-fashioned practices employs unique ingredients, while Elementary focuses on classic cocktails combined with seasonal drinks.

Sips

Heading back to Barcelona, Sips doesn’t take reservations but it’s worth the wait. With hand-crafted cocktails from some of the best mixologists in the world, Sips continuously pushes the envelope .

American entries

Bars in the U.S. managed to snag nine spots on the list, with seven of those going to bars in the Big Apple.

Double Chicken Please in New York, was the highest ranked American bar, landing at No. 6. Double Chicken Please is revolutionary in the way it crafts, deconstructs, redefines and rebuilds iconic dishes and cocktails. Located in the Lower East Side, if you want traditional, but with a twist, Double Chicken Please should be on your list.
