Inside peek: Sugarloaf Tour of Homes

Roberson house in Duluth offers a preview of the Sugarloaf Tour of Homes.

Marian and Todd Roberson's home is one of six on display Thursday through Dec. 2 as part of the "Deck the Halls and Welcome Ya'll Tour of Homes" at Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth.

Marian, a homemaker, and Todd, a partner in a construction products company, bought their Duluth home three years ago.

Expo Design Center designers created the Christmas decorations for Todd Roberson's paneled study.

Several oil paintings and a treasured family bible are displayed in the hallway. Todd Roberson bought the three oil paintings for his wife's birthday. The bible is from Marian's side of the family. Her grandparents homesteaded during the Oklahoma land run.

The family's 1915 dining table belonged to Marian Roberson's grandfather when he was a principal in Mississippi. It was used in a teacherage, a home for teachers.

The designers took the Roberson's china and added holiday flair.

The Roberson's kitchen features a large island, a double refrigerator and a slate floor. When the couple started looking at homes, Marian decided she needed another warming drawer in her new kitchen. (This kitchen has two.)

The designer, Joy Le Blanc, used plaster in the dining room to create a multi-dimensional effect.

A high ceiling shows off the chandelier in the formal living room. The Robersons moved it from the entry way to this room.

A piano that belonged to Marian Roberson's grandmother is a highlight of the formal living room. Her grandmother was a piano teacher.

The spacious master bedroom has a fireplace and several large windows. It will be decorated for the tour.

The master bathroom, filled with soft natural light, features walnut cabinets, granite counters and gold fixtures. The couple's interior designer remodeled the bathroom to eliminate an odd linen closet between the sinks and replaced it with a built-in vanity.

This guest bedroom is one of six bedrooms in the home. There are seven full and 3.5 half baths.

This bedroom belongs to Katie, the couple's 20-year-old daughter who attends Clemson University. The Robersons also have a son, David, a junior at Peachtree Ridge High.

Katie Roberson's bedroom features colorful, framed Barbie prints. Katie found the prints on eBay when she was younger, and her mother thought they fit the decor.

One of the guest bedrooms features a detailed headboard made of tin.

The Home Depot designers took the family's love of games and created campy holiday decor in the terrace-level basement.

Two spinning Christmas trees flank the staircase from the basement.

A pool table and pinball machine populate the billiards room.

The Robersons like the openness of the media room, which seats 12. "It's perfect for watching sports," says Todd Roberson.

The L-shaped wine cellar, which is 6 feet wide by 25 feet long, contains a vast selection of wines.

Holiday decorations brighten the foyer. The Roberson's Duluth home will be open for the upcoming Sugarloaf Country Club Tour of Homes.

The family room contains a large television and comfortable seating. The home will be part of the Women's Club of Sugarloaf Holiday Tour of Homes on Dec. 1-4. Esperanza Koop, of Sol Interiors, will decorate the family room, kitchen and master bedroom for the tour.

The backyard of the Roberson home runs alongside the golf course and features a swimming pool and hot tub.
