Rudy Love and the Encore at Smith’s Olde Bar. A close collective of friends and family, this group blends soul, funk and R&B into its own jazzy mix. Tickets: $12 and up.

Jan. 23

Mudcat and the Piedmont Playboys at Blind Willie’s. Not only known for outstanding country blues in Atlanta but also for being overall entertainers, this act is a favorite in the city. Tickets: $5.

Jan. 30

Skylar Saufley at Blind Willie’s. Saufley is still in his 20s but already in the Alabama Blues Hall of Fame, even as an Atlantan. A blues prodigy on the rise. Tickets: $5.

Eddie 9V at Terminal West. Just returned from an international tour, Eddie 9V features Southern soul, blues, rock and funk with a signature wit and sharp observations of American culture. $25-$35.

Blair Crimmins and the Hookers at Northside Tavern. Bluesy and raw New Orleans jazz style at one of Atlanta’s most fun rough-around-the-edges nightspots. Tickets: $10.

The Bad Plus at City Winery. Founding members Reid Anderson on bass and Dave King on drums join Ben Monder on guitar and Chris Speed on tenor saxophone to embark on new genre-bending musical excursions. Tickets: $30-$40.

Feb. 15

Ranky Tanky at Spivey Hall. Called “soulful honey to the ears” by Montana Public Radio’s John Floridis, Ranky Tanky brings Gullah flavored Charleston music in jazz and spiritual traditions. Tickets: $25-$55.

Feb. 22

Frankie’s Blues Mission at Blind Willie’s. One of the best blues guitarists and entertainers accessible to Atlantans, Frank Robinson is a master of Delta blues and electric blues of the 1950s and 1960s. Check venue for ticket prices.

Carmen Bradford with Reginald Thomas at Jazz at All Saints’ Episcopal. Grammy Award-winning jazz royalty, Carmen Bradford was discovered at 22 by Count Basie and has been delighting audiences ever since. She will be joined by pianist Reginald Thomas, now playing with the Count Basie Orchestra. Tickets: $25, with discounts available.

Feb. 23

Robert Cray Band at City Springs. Native Georgian Cray is a blues icon who has performed with the likes of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Tina Turner and Eric Clapton. Tickets: $43-$139.

Feb. 27

The Taylor Roberts Quartet at Eddie’s Attic. Exceptional guitarist Taylor Roberts’ influences include jazz, R&B, classic rock and pop. Kevin Bales, Billy Thornton and Terreon Gully join for a complete quartet. Tickets: $20.
