Music Midtown has announced via its social media accounts that all who attend the festival will need to be fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

“The safety of our patrons and our staff is our number one priority. As such, a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to attend Music Midtown 2021,” the posts read. The festival takes place in Piedmont Park on Sept. 18 and 19, with headliners Maroon 5, the Jonas Brothers, 21 Savage and Miley Cyrus.

“For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 72 hours (3 days) of first day attending Music Midtown,” according to the announcement.

This announcement comes just days after the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival was completely canceled for the second year in a row, after being postponed from its usual spring dates.

Stevie Nicks, set to headline this fall’s Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta’s Central Park, canceled all of her 2021 dates. Shaky Knees has already found a replacement in the Foo Fighters.

Music Midtown joins several Atlanta venues in requiring vaccines or a negative test.
