Santa’s going to be on the run — make that a lot of Santas — at the Atlanta Jingle Bell Jog 5K, coming to Piedmont Park at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

The annual event skips handing out the T-shirt that runners receive at most races and instead gives participants a Santa suit to wear as they run. They’ll also receive jingle bells to tie to their running shoes to create a merry race filled with the sights and sounds of Christmas.

The event is a qualifier for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Peachtree Road Race. It’s also an official drop location for Toys for Tots, with Marines and Santa on-site to accept unwrapped toys for donation.

Register for the 5K for $55 or the Elf Dash for $24.50, which includes fees. Then pick up your packet before the race at one of three locations listed on the race website.

On race day, head to the Midtown Promenade (932 Monroe Drive, Atlanta), where you can park for up to four hours for $5. The start area for the race is at Piedmont Park’s Charles Allen Drive entrance off 10th Street, with the 5K getting underway at 9 a.m. and the Elf Dash starting at 10 a.m.

After you finish the race, stay to receive a holiday-themed medal as well as food and holiday-themed refreshments.
