College football’s biggest game, the National Championship contest that this year pits the Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. the Ohio State Buckeyes, returns to Atlanta on Monday, Jan. 20, but you don’t need to be a fan or have a ticket to the game to be part of it all. Whether you’re a foodie, a runner or just want to experience some of the hoopla surrounding the College Football Playoff (CFP) finale, you can join in the fun at the following events:

Taste of the Championship

Treat yourself to gourmet food and drink prepared by Atlanta chefs as they showcase the city’s cuisine. Joey Ward, executive chef and owner of Michelin-recommended restaurants Southern Belle and Georgia Boy, is one of the acclaimed chefs participating in the event.

Taste of the Championship happens at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Georgia Aquarium, 225 Baker St. NW, Atlanta. Tickets cost $150. Information: collegefootballplayoff.com.

The CFP Trophy Trot will take 5K and 10K runners through the streets of downtown Atlanta.

CFP Trophy Trot

Race through the streets of downtown Atlanta in your choice of a 5K or 10K, and you’ll have multiple chances to win tickets to the CFP National Championship Game.

Registration costs are $50 in advance and $55 on race day for the 5K; $70 in advance and $75 on race day for the 10K. The race kicks off at 9 a.m. Sunday at Georgia International Plaza, 1 State Farm Drive, Atlanta. Information: atlantatrackclub.org.

AT&T Playoff Playlist Live!

AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! brings its traveling music festival to Atlanta to accompany the CFP National Championship over two nights. The first concert will feature performances by Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and Muni Long as well as a special guest performance by 2 Chainz. On the second night, Camila Cabello, Myles Smith and Knox will perform.

The concerts will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at State Farm Arena, 1 State Farm Drive, Atlanta. Tickets start at $49 for Saturday; $35 for Sunday. Information: collegefootballplayoff.com.
