Dwight Howard, an Atlanta native and former NBA All-Star, has placed his Suwanee home for sale for $11.25 million.
This home is one of the most expensive currently available in the metro Atlanta market. There is a $46.8 million home in Sandy Springs for sale, a home surrounded by 162 acres in Powder Springs for an asking price of $35 million and a Milton mansion going for $11.5 million.
Howard’s mansion includes 10 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms and six full kitchens. Living space is more than 32,000 square feet, which is about 14 times larger than the average newly built single-family American home, according to the U.S. Census. It is on 14 acres of fully landscaped gated property with a private lake stocked with fish. There is a pool, basketball court, gym, theater, game room, elevator and a 10-car garage.

“It’s not in Atlanta, but it’s close enough that you can easily head into Atlanta,” said listing agent Kelly Anderson of Engel & Völkers’ Atlanta operations. “It offers privacy and luxury. It’s a sanctuary with high-end finishes and a place to entertain without people being on top of you. There are multiple apartments for guests.”
Howard, who played in the NBA for 18 seasons, including one season with the Atlanta Hawks, purchased the home in 2016 for $8.8 million. (Anderson said the original owner built the home in 2010 but never lived in it.)
Anderson, who has more than 20 years of real estate experience, met Howard through a mutual friend. She said she will also help Howard buy another home in the metro area after he sells this one.

Although the pool of potential buyers is relatively limited, Anderson is confident they can get a buyer within three months given the asking price. And she touted the vast connections she can tap through Engel & Volkers, a large, worldwide real estate company.
“We have our own PR firm and marketing firm,” Anderson said. “We are pushing things out in New York and Los Angeles. I’ve got online marketing going out to different luxury markets. It’s being translated into every language for international platforms.”
This is the type of house you can’t just see on a whim or at an open house. Anderson said would-be buyers have to prove they have the money to afford the home, which has been on the market since Jan. 23.
“We’ve had a few inquiries in the process of being vetted,” Anderson said. “There are legitimate potential buyers.”

She said three other homes sold for more than $10 million in metro Atlanta during the first half of 2024, but the market slowed before the presidential election. “The luxury buyers buy when they want to buy, but a lot of people with money held back until after the election,” she said.
