Tompkins High School forward Kristian Sjolund became Georgia Tech's first commit of the 2018 signing class on Sunday.

A week after making his official visit to Georgia Tech, the 6-foot-9 rising senior from Katy, Texas called coach Josh Pastner to accept his scholarship offer on Sunday, according to Sjolund's AAU coach Stephon Leary.

Originally from Norway, the three-star Sjolund grew up in Houston and received offers from Ole Miss, Baylor, Washington State, Colorado and Illinois. Sjolund is ranked the No. 232 recruit in the class of 2018 by 247 Sports.
