PGA Tour officials couldn’t have been happier Tuesday at mid-day when sunshine broke through the clouds at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. By all accounts, the course was draining well and everything remains on track for the tournament to begin as scheduled.

Play is set to begin Thursday and continue through Sunday, weather permitting.

Practice rounds Wednesday will be the highlight of the first day when fans can see their favorites. Wednesday will be Community Day with the practice rounds as well as a clinic by British Open winner Stewart Cink of Duluth at 2 p.m.

The top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings will compete for a first prize of $1.35 million out of a $7.5 million purse.

Thursday is Military Appreciation Day. All active, reserve and retired military and their dependents are admitted free all week with a valid ID. Children 16 and under are allowed free grounds access with a ticketed adult compliments of the Southern Company. Children 6 and under are allowed access to hospitality venues with a credentialed adult.
