After being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, former Atlanta Braves outfielder Sean Rodriguez wrote a message on Twitter thanking the Braves and the city of Atlanta.

Rodriguez returned to Pittsburgh over the weekend after playing two seasons with the Pirates in 2015 and 2016.

“Thank you so much to Atlanta the city, the fans, and the Team,” Rodriguez’s statement read in part. “Though short, loved my time there. I've got nothing but love for y'all."

The Braves received minor league infielder Connor Joe in exchange for Rodriguez in this weekend’s trade.

Rodriguez batted a .162 average with six hits, two home runs, eight walks and 19 strikeouts in 15 games with the Braves.
