Heavy rain closed East Lake Golf Club on Monday, limiting players who wanted to prepare for this week’s Tour Championship. According to tournament director Todd Rhinehart, players could walk the course and putt the greens but could not hit shots from tee boxes or fairways as nearly a week of inclement weather continued.

The rough at the course has not been mowed since last Monday. The fairways, which have not been mowed since Wednesday, will be cut as soon as weather allows. Crews were to rework bunkers for the fourth time in the last week on Monday.

Officials are confident that, with the drainage systems under the greens and fairways, the tournament will be played as planned.
