The Atlanta Dream’s owners fired general manager Angela Taylor two weeks ago following the team’s 15-19 season.

The termination wasn’t accompanied by a release to the media.

When asked, the Dream issued this statement on Tuesday: “The team decided to go in another direction with the leadership of the franchise. A search is currently underway to find a replacement.”

The team’s record was its worst since its inaugural season in 2008 when it went 4-30. The team proceeded to make the playoffs each of the next six seasons, a string that ended this season. The Dream finished tied with Connecticut for last place in the Eastern Conference.

Taylor just completed her second season with the team.

Other than the results, the team’s drafts, like those of the general managers who came before her, didn’t yield many results for the team.

Of the six selections made by Taylor, just one, Shoni Schimmel, is still with the team.

Just three of the team’s 19 draft picks since 2009 are still with the team. Those three are Schimmel, Angel McCoughtry and Tiffany Hayes.
