Matt Ryan ranks 16th in average time to throw among starting quarterbacks

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan ranked 16th among NFL quarterbacks last season in time to throw, according to Pro Football Focus.

Ryan, the reigning League MVP, averaged 2.60 seconds per throw and was sacked 37 times last season. Ryan finished the 2016 regular season with a 69.9 pass completion percentage— a career-high.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw the quickest among NFL quarterbacks averaging 2.37 seconds per throw. Last in the League was Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor with 3.35 seconds per throw. Taylor was sacked 42 times last season while Brees was sacked 27 times.

The average time to throw last season among starting quarterbacks was 2.64 seconds.
