Georgia coach Kirby Smart says LSU's Tiger Stadium –– infamously known as Death Valley — will be "an extremely tough environment to play in" Saturday (3:30 p.m., CBS; News 95.5 and AM-750 WSB).
LSU is undefeated in Tiger Stadium this season, defeating Southeastern Louisiana, Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss. The Tigers also have defeated previously ranked top-10 teams No. 8 Miami and No. 7 Auburn on the road.
“Their fan base is really second to none,” Smart said. “That’s apparent from the time you pull in on the buses from playing in the stadium.”
No. 13-ranked LSU suffered its first loss of the season on the road against Florida, falling short 27-19. Having played and coached in Death Valley, Smart realizes the impact that LSU fans play at a game in Tiger Stadium, especially after the team’s first loss.
“I think the tests are coming up,” Smart said. “You don’t get through this conference without being a little sore and a little beat up.”
