Kennesaw State unveils helmet

Kennesaw State unveiled its new football helmet on Friday after a contest in which the fans were able to select from three options.

The winner, receiving 60 percent of almost 10,000 responses, is a gold helmet with an interlocking KS logo, custom black stripe down the middle and black facemask. The other choices were a black helmet featuring the interlocking KS logo and yellow facemask (24 percent of the vote), and gold helmet with Owls logo, solid yellow stripe down the middle and black facemask.

The Owls are scheduled to play their first football game in 2015. They recently became associate members of the Big South Conference in the sport.
