11 Georgia players in Under Armour All-America football game

Carrollton’s Julian Lewis and Savannah Christian’s Elijah Griffin are among 11 Georgia players playing their final high school games Thursday in the Under Armour All-America Game in Deland, Fla.

ESPN will televise the game, played at Spec Martin Stadium, beginning at 4 p.m.

Lewis, recently named the AJC’s Class 6A offensive player of the year, passed for 11,010 yards and 144 touchdowns in a three-year career at Carrollton. A starter since his freshman season, Lewis played only three high school seasons but reclassified as a senior and graduated early. He has already joined his college team, Colorado.

Griffin, who has signed with Georgia, was named on Tuesday the Bobby Dodd National Lineman of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. On Monday, he was named the AJC’s Class 3A-A private division’s defensive player of the year. He had more than 100 tackles for losses as a four-year starter.
