Cook coach Jamie Rodgers says he’s never had a back have a game like that. Nor have many coaches.
Running back Jamarion Walker, a junior, rushed for 394 yards on 35 carries and scored five touchdowns in a 56-41 victory over Worth County in Region 1-2A last week.
“There are a couple things that separate him from others that I’ve had,” Rodgers said. “First, he is the most humble and gracious player that I have ever coached. Always positive no matter the circumstances. Second, his overall strength is so much higher than the running backs I have had. He’s a 350-pound bench presser and a 515-pound squatter. He is very explosive in the lower body and packs a punch for 5-7, 190 pounds.”
