Wheeler guard Isaiah Collier, the nation’s consensus No. 1 men’s basketball recruit, led five Georgia players named to the Jersey Mike’s Naismith All-America teams announced Wednesday by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

Collier is Georgia’s lone first-team member. Newton guard Stephon Castle was named to the second team.

Their teams are playing Wednesday night in the Class 7A quarterfinals. No. 1-ranked Wheeler and Collier are at McEachern while Newton and Castle play at defending champion Norcross.

Making the honorable-mention girls team were Brookwood’s Diana Collins, Westminster’s Courtney Ogden and Valdosta’s Essence Cody.

The seasons are over for Ogden and Cody, but Collins’ Brookwood team beat South Forsyth 74-58 on Tuesday night to reach the Class 7A semifinals. Brookwood has never won a girls basketball state title.
