The Gwinnett Braves are officially no more.

On Friday, the team revealed their new name—the Gwinnett Stripers.

In May, the Atlanta Braves Triple-A team in Gwinnett announced the team would change its name for the 2018 season and beyond.

“The Stripers” new name is a variation of “Big Mouths” that was one of the final names the Braves selection committee chose in July.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Gabriel Burns was on site for the announcement and took pictures of the team’s new logo and uniforms.

The Stripers will change team jerseys, the logo and merchandise to reflect the change, but the team mascot, Chopper the groundhog, will not change.

During the press conference held on Friday, the team announced Sugar Hill resident Jay Andrews suggested the name in May along with other fans who in total submitted 900 different names.

In July, fans voted on a few final options picked by a selection committee made up of Braves personnel.

The Braves committee chose the final six names for the G-Braves renaming contest in July: the Buttons, Big Mouths, Gobblers, Hush Puppies, Lambchops and Sweet Teas.
