Georgia Tech safety Juanyeh Thomas was named ACC defensive back of the week for his performance against Miami. It’s his second time that he has been so honored in the Yellow Jackets’ past four games. The ACC made the announcement Monday.

In the Jackets’ loss to the Hurricanes, Thomas was credited with nine tackles, a sack, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble (returned for a touchdown) and scored a defensive two-point conversion, intercepting a pass in the end zone and returning it to the Miami end zone.

No FBS player had collected all of those defensive statistics and scored in a single game since 2015. No ACC player had accomplished it since 2008.

Thomas also won ACC defensive back of the week for his play against Duke on Oct. 9.
