Georgia Tech defensive tackle Ja’Quon Griffin will transfer to Coastal Carolina. Griffin, who announced his decision to go into the transfer portal Dec. 10, announced his destination Wednesday on social media.

Griffin became the second Tech player of the six who went into the portal following the season to decide on a landing spot, following running back Jahmyr Gibbs (Alabama). Griffin, a 2018 signee from Rome High and the older brother of running back Jamious Griffin (who himself went into the portal before deciding to return to Tech) played in 33 games in four seasons for the Yellow Jackets, including his redshirt year, with five starts.

At Coastal Carolina, he joins one of the more prominent teams in FBS outside of the five power conferences. The Chanticleers were 22-3 in the past two seasons. Griffin joins two former Jackets who have transferred there, defensive end Emmanuel Johnson and running back Christian Malloy. Griffin has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
