The National Football Foundation on Wednesday announced a list of 176 semifinalists for this year’s Campbell Trophy, an academic award given to football players at five levels of collegiate competition.

Georgia State cornerback Jaylon Jones (Dacula High School) and Georgia Tech offensive lineman Ryan Johnson were among the semifinalists.

This year’s semifinalists have an average GPA of 3.66, and more than two-thirds have graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

The NFF will announce 12-14 finalists Oct. 27, and each person will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. The Campbell Trophy is in its 32nd year.
