Georgia Tech’s flurry of transfer commitments Friday continued with a pledge from Cayman Spaulding. Spaulding announced his intention to join the Yellow Jackets for the 2025 season on X, formerly Twitter.

Spaulding (6-foot, 189 pounds) spent two seasons at Tennessee Tech and played in 21 games. His 2024 season included 66 tackles (11.5 for a loss), three sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception which was returned 29 yards for a touchdown. Spaulding made nine tackles over nine games in 2023.

Named first team all-Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Football Association and second team by PhilSteele.com, Spaulding was the Region 6-4A defensive player of the year at Miller Grove High School in 2021. Spaulding made 121 tackles (24 for a loss) with six sacks. He finished his prep career with 246 tackles and 18 sacks and four interceptions.

Spaulding joins tight ends Harry Lodge (Wake Forest) and J.T. Byrne (California), Florida International wide receivers Dean Patterson and Eric Rivers, South Carolina wide receiver Debron Gatling, North Carolina offensive lineman Andrew Rosinski, Alabama-Birmingham defensive back Kelvin Hill and Eastern Michigan defensive back Daiquan White as players who plan to transfer to Tech for the ‘25 season.
