Georgia Tech linebackers Ayinde Eley and Charlie Thomas were named to another All-ACC team Tuesday, this time earning spots on The Associated Press’ all-conference team.

Both were named to the second team. Eley and Thomas also were recognized last week on the ACC all-conference team, which is voted on by coaches and media. Eley made second team and Thomas third team. The AP team is voted on by media covering the league.

Eley’s 118 tackles led the Yellow Jackets and placed third in the ACC. He also had 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His four forced fumbles are tied for most in FBS.

Thomas had a similarly impressive aggregation – 112 tackles (fifth in the ACC), 10.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He is the first FBS player to reach all of those totals since 2014.

Safety Clayton Powell-Lee also was recognized Tuesday, earning honorable mention on the freshman All-American team assembled by College Football News. Despite starting seven of Tech’s 12 games, Powell-Lee was credited with 48 tackles, fifth on the team. His three fumble recoveries tied for most in the ACC.
