The ACC announced Friday the league openers for all 17-member schools, including Georgia Tech.
The Yellow Jackets will start conference play Sept. 13 against Clemson at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Tech and Clemson will renew their 89-game rivalry after a hiatus in 2024.
Clemson went 10-4 and 7-1 in ACC play in 2024. The Tigers beat SMU in the ACC title game before losing at Texas on Dec. 21 in Austin, Texas.
Tech and Clemson last met Nov. 11, 2023, in Clemson, South Carolina, a game that Tech lost 42-21. The Jackets have lost nine consecutive to the Tigers, last winning in 2014. Tech also has lost three consecutive in the series at Bobby Dodd Stadium and lost the 2022 matchup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The remainder of Tech’s ACC schedule will be announced at 9 p.m. Monday. The Jackets also have home games scheduled with Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Virginia Tech and travel to Duke, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Boston College.
Tech is coming off two consecutive 7-6 seasons and back-to-back 5-3 marks in ACC play. The Jackets finished tied for fourth in 2024 and in 2023.
On Aug. 30, Tech begins the 2025 season at Colorado. The Buffaloes, coached by NFL great Deion Sanders, went 9-4 last season and lost to Brigham Young in the Alamo Bowl.
Tech has home nonconference games scheduled with Gardner-Webb (Sept. 6) and Temple (Sept. 20). The Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb went 4-8 last season and 3-5 in the Big South Conference in the FCS. Temple finished 3-9 and 2-6 in the American Athletic Conference.
On Nov. 29, Tech faces rival Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Jackets have lost seven consecutive to the Bulldogs, including the eight-overtime, 44-42 defeat in November in Athens at Sanford Stadium.
