ATHENS -- With Justin Kier’s decision to enter the transfer portal, Georgia basketball has lost its fourth starter off last season’s team and seventh player overall.

Kier came to Georgia as a graduate transfer from George Mason. The 6-foot-4 guard started all 24 games that he played. He ranked fourth on the team in scoring at 9.5 points per game and led the Bulldogs in steals with 43.

Kier’s departure means Georgia has now lost 1,241 points from last year’s 14-12 team, or 51.1 per game.

Forwards Andrew Garcia and P.J. Horne, Georgia’s other two graduate transfers on last year’s team, have not announced their intentions. They averaged 8.7 and 8.5 points per game, respectively.

With their status unknown, the Bulldogs currently have 13 players set on their 2021 roster. Eight of those will be first-year players for coach Tom Crean, including six transfers and three freshman signees.
