ATHENS — Scheduling is a hot topic in college football and fans will have more to talk about Wednesday, as the Southeastern Conference will announce its schedules for the 2025 college football season at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network.

The league has previously stated that the conference schedule will be eight games and it will be the inverse of what the 2024 schedule was in terms of home and road games.

For Georgia, that means it can expect to have home games against Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss and Kentucky. The road games will be against Auburn, Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Georgia will play Florida in Jacksonville on Nov. 1, 2025. The Bulldogs also already know the dates and locations of their non-conference games, with Georgia facing Marshall on Aug. 30, Austin Peay on Sept. 6 and Charlotte on Nov. 22. Those games will all be played in Athens.

The annual game against Georgia Tech will be played on Nov. 29, but it will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia won this year’s version of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate by beating Georgia Tech in eight overtimes by a score of 44-42.

The 2025 season will see Georgia host Texas for the first time in the history of the two schools. The Bulldogs beat Texas twice this season, winning 30-15 in Austin, Texas on Oct. 19 and then most recently in the SEC Championship game.

As for Alabama, should Georgia host the Crimson Tide, it would be the first time since the 2015 season that the two sides meet in Athens. While Kirby Smart is 1-6 against Alabama in his time as Georgia’s head coach, none of those games have been played in the friendly confines of Sanford Stadium.

Georgia faced one of the more difficult schedules in college football this season, having played three teams that made the College Football Playoff field. The Bulldogs also faced Alabama and Ole Miss, who just missed the College Football Playoff.

Following Georgia’s win over Texas in the SEC Championship game, Smart didn’t hesitate to let SEC commissioner Greg Sankey know about what Smart thought about the Georgia football schedule this past season.

“I don’t know that I’ve had a more mentally tough team,” Smart said. “They just keep coming and keep coming. They never say ‘die’. I have a lot of respect for the leaders in that room because of what they’ve been through. Probably the hardest schedule in history that we’ve ever had. They endured it, they came out on top, and they fought their way through.”

Kickoff times and television assignments for the 2025 schedule will be announced at a later date.

As for the season still at hand, Georgia will next play on Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs will face the winner of Notre Dame-Indiana, with the game set for an 8:45 p.m. EST start.
