The Atlanta Falcons are scheduled to play a Thursday night home game in the 2017 season and wear red from head-to-toe as part of the NFL's "color rush" promotion.

A bylaw presented to the league by the Washington Redskins, however, seeks to give teams the opportunity to “opt out” of wearing the one-color scheme uniforms.

The Falcons were one of eight teams last season to play in a Thursday night game and not wear color rush uniforms.

The team wore their traditional white road uniforms in Tampa Nov. 3, due to a color conflict as both teams had all-red schemes.

Falcons CEO Rich McKay said last year he was excited about the prospect of seeing Matt Ryan in all red.

All proceeds from the sales of Color Rush jerseys goes to the NFL Foundation to fund health, safety and wellness programs for youth.
