5 things to know about the Falcons on Monday

Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Monday:

1. No practice. The Falcons do not practice today.

2. Ryan on Shanahan. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan attempted to explain his comments about former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

3. Jones' ear ring caper. Wide receiver Julio Jones contends he didn't hire a dive team to help find his lost $100,000 ear ring in Lake Lanier. He noted that the jewelry was insured. 

4. Star of the week. Rookie cornerback Damontae Kazee has been the early star of training camp. The fifth-round pick from San Diego State worked with the first-team defense on Saturday when Ricardo Allen was excused for personal reasons. He had an interception on Sunday.

5. Here's the schedule. The Falcons practice at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and at 5:05 p.m. on Friday. All practices are open to the public and gates open an hour before the start of practice. They are off on Saturday.
