Thirty-two players with Georgia connections (26 from Georgia high schools, six from Georgia colleges) have been invited to the NFL scouting combine, which will be held Feb. 23-March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The number is up from the 25 players who were invited in 2019.

Georgia has 10 players invited. In 2018, they had 12 led by Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.

In 2016, a total of 26 players with Georgia ties competed at the combine. In 2015, there were 37. In 2014, 23 players and in 2013, 29 and in 2012, there were 26.

There also were more than 30 players (31) in 2011.

Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, a potential top-10 NFL draft pick, heads the list of former Bulldogs on the list of 337 players who have been invited.

The first on-field drills will start Feb. 27.

Today, we’ll look at Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm:

Jake Fromm, 6-2, 220, QB, Houston County, Georgia. Will go down as one of the more prolific passers in school history. Fromm's 8,224 career passing yards rank fourth on UGA's all-time list. His 78 career touchdown passes put him in second place on UGA's all-time list, and he ranks fourth and fifth, respectively, on UGA's lists of career completions and attempts. He led UGA to 37 wins in 43 games over three seasons, starting all but the first one, when he replaced an injured Jacob Eason during the third offensive series of the game. The Bulldogs won an SEC championship, a Rose Bowl and three SEC East titles during Fromm's career.

Georgia offensive lineman Cade Mays gives Jake Fromm plenty of time to pass against Missouri during the second half in a NCAA college football game on Saturday, November 9, 2019, in Athens. Curtis Compton/ccompton@ajc.com
