The Falcons made it through Sunday’s 29-3 win over the Panthers in relatively good shape from a health standpoint.
Defensive end Takk McKinley suffered a shoulder injury, but returned to play. Defensive end Adrian Clayborn, who had two sacks and three quarterback hits, suffered a groin injury late and did not return.
“We hopeful (McKinley) makes good progress during the week, but when you finish (the game), that’s a good sign,” Quinn said.
The Falcons are holding out hope for quick returns for tight end Austin Hooper (knee) and running back Devonta Freeman (foot sprain), who both missed the Carolina game.
“As for Hoop and Free we’ll see where we are as we go through the week,” Quinn said. “Both of them are definitely trending in the right way. If they are able to participate some of Thursday or Friday that would be a good sign. If they are not, I wouldn’t (play them) without two weeks of practice.”
Also, guard Chris Lindstrom’s 21-day return period will start when he’s activated. He’s on injured reserve with a designation to return after foot surgery.
“With Chris, we have not activated him yet,” Quinn said. “He’ll have another follow-up soon. He’s hitting all the markers that we’ve asked him to hit. It’s that his injury is longer than the time frame allows.”
Lindstrom was injured in the season opener and has missed the required eight games to return.
