Here are a few things you might not know about Kansas State University:

Location: Manhattan, Kan.

Founded: 1863

Enrollment: 22,795

Famous alumni: Kirstie Alley (actress), Erin Brockovich ( legal clerk and environmental activist), Eric Stonestreet (actor) and Jordy Nelson (football player) among others.

Number of appearances in the NCAA Tournament: Kansas State has made 30 appearances in the NCAA Tournament and made it to the championship game once in 1951. The Wildcats have also made 17 appearances in the Sweet 16.

Kansas State tips off against No. 5 Kentucky Thursday at 9:37 p.m. at Philips Arena.
