Ga Tech injuries: Starting center could miss UGA game
Georgia Tech starting center Sean Bedford still is using crutches, and coach Paul Johnson said that Bedford's status remains uncertain for the Georgia game.
"We'll see as the week goes on," Johnson said.
The No. 7 Yellow Jackets (10-1, 7-1) will host the Bulldogs (6-4, 4-3) at 8 p.m. on Nov. 28. The game will be televised by ABC.
Bedford, who has started every game this season, injured his ankle in Saturday's 49-10 win against Duke.
Backup guard Omoregie Uzzi practiced Tuesday. He missed the Duke game with a sore back.
Typical practice
After taking Monday off, Johnson said Tuesday's practice looked like a typical conditioning practice. The Jackets usually do light conditioning and some "corrective drills," as Johnson calls them, during the first practice of the week. Because they don't have a game this weekend, they did their typical Monday practice on Tuesday.
The team will practice today and Thursday, and Johnson said they will practice again this weekend, and then resume their usual schedule on Monday.
Work, work work
Despite having their first weekend without a practice or a game since Sept. 19, Johnson said that he likely will work through the weekend. Asked if he gets to relax at all, he said he usually does so after the bowl game.
