Georgia Tech’s Sunday evening game against Syracuse has been sold out. The school announced the sellout, the third of the season after the Georgia and Notre Dame games, Wednesday morning.

It’s another piece of evidence of the excitement that the Yellow Jackets have created in coach Josh Pastner’s first season. It’s the first season that Tech has sold out three games since 2012-13, when McCamish Pavilion opened.

“They’ve appreciated how hard the guys have played,” Pastner said.

Tech’s average attendance thus far at 8,600-seat McCamish Pavilion is 5,705 and 7,008 for ACC games. Last year, the team drew 5,832 in all home games and 6,978 in ACC games, selling out the Duke and Notre Dame games. Typically, sellouts at McCamish have included a noticeable contingent of fans supporting the visiting team, as was the case for the first two sellouts this season.

The game is being marketed as a whiteout.
