Progress on Georgia Tech's basketball arena

When fans enter the building, they will walk in a large, open concourse that stretches 270 degrees around the court, which will be visible.

The original bent roof columns will give the arena a very industrial appeal.

The McCamish will not have suites like the current building, adding club level seating instead. Expanding the concourse, widening aisles, adding more chairback seating will slightly reduce the capacity of the new building (from 9,191 to 8,900).

Construction equipment was used to demolish center court. The old floor will be used as a decorative feature in the new place.

Construction will continue through next summer. The arena is set to open for the 2012-13 season.
