Former Georgia Tech guard Parker Braun has committed to play for Texas as a grad transfer. Braun confirmed the decision to the AJC, reported earlier Sunday by the Orangebloods website.

Braun, a two-time All-ACC selection and arguably the Yellow Jackets’ best player for the past two seasons, had been at Texas this weekend on an official visit. On track to graduate in May with one more year of eligibility, Braun elected to leave Tech as a grad transfer. Florida, Ohio State and Auburn had been other options.

Braun made his decision to leave Tech for a variety of reasons, including the change in offenses and the coaching staff at Tech, the opportunity to test himself in a different setting and the limited liberal-arts options for graduate study at Tech.
