Despite once committing to Tennessee, Emanuel Bridges, a linebacker from Newnan, switched to Georgia Tech and has a chance to play quickly.

Here are three things to know about Bridges:

1. On to the Flats: Coach Paul Johnson landed a promising talent, when he pried the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Bridges away from Tennessee. Bridges had been committed to the Volunteers for months, before announcing on Twitter that he had had a change of heart and was going to be a Yellow Jacket.

2. A strong senior season: Bridges recorded 111 tackles, six sacks, nine tackles for loss and five quarterback hurries during his senior season at Newnan High School.

3. An appreciative coach: "He was good player throughout his career," Newnan coach Mike McDonald said. "He really played like a big-time player for us this year as were making our push to the playoffs."
