The first verbal commit in Georgia Tech’s 2018 recruiting class signed his letter of intent with the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday.

Peach County’s JaQuez Jackson verbally committed to Georgia Tech on June 4, but withdrew his commitment on June 10 citing he needed more time and rushed into the decision. He then recommitted to Georgia Tech on June 22.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Jackson had other offers from UCF, West Virginia and Georgia State. Jackson led the Trojans in tackles (137), tackles for loss (28) and was second in sacks with five.
