Georgia State defeats Louisiana-Monroe on the road

Highlighted by 13 made free throws, Kane Williams scored 19 points to lead Georgia State to a 77-69 victory at Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday afternoon.

Williams was 13-of-14 from the free-throw line, and Georgia State (16-9, 9-5 Sun Belt) was 22-of-25 from there – in a game in which the Panthers jumped to an 8-1 lead and never trailed.

Louisiana-Monroe (6-17, 2-12) lost its 10th consecutive game.

Georgia State’s Corey Allen scored 15 points, and Damon Wilson added 14. Allen and Wilson each made three 3-point shots.

Despite Williams’ success at the line, he was 3-of-10 from the field, including three missed 3-pointers. Justin Roberts also was 3-of-10 from the field, on his way to nine points and seven assists. The rest of the Panthers shot 18-of-37 (48.7%) from the field.
