Georgia’s 2019 football schedule was released Tuesday afternoon by the SEC.

The Bulldogs will open the season Aug. 31 at Vanderbilt, the first time that UGA has opened its season with an SEC game since 1995, when the Bulldogs played host to South Carolina. That game was the fourth of four consecutive seasons opening against the Gamecocks.

Georgia will play Vanderbilt in a season opener for the first time since 1956 in Nashville.

The 2019 schedule also includes two bye weeks.

After Vanderbilt, Georgia plays at home for three consecutive home games. The Dogs host Murray State (Sept. 7), Arkansas State (Sept. 14), Notre Dame (Sept. 21) before having a bye Sept. 28 and then going on the road to take on Tennessee in Knoxville on Oct. 5.

Home games against South Carolina and Kentucky are set for Oct. 12 and Oct. 19, then comes the second bye (Oct. 26) before the annual game against Florida in Jacksonville (Nov. 2).

The Bulldogs finish the season with four games that alternate between Sanford Stadium and a road venue. Georgia plays at home against Missouri on Nov. 9, at Auburn on No. 16, at home against Texas A&M on Nov. 23 and at Georgia Tech on Nov. 30.

Georgia will play Texas A&M for the first time since the Aggies joined the SEC for the 2012 season. The teams met in the 2009 Independence Bowl, with Georgia winning 44-20, and in Athens in 1980, which Georgia won 42-0 in Herschel Walker’s first game at Sanford Stadium. Overall, Georgia is 2-3 against the Aggies, with losses in 1950, 1953 and 1954.
