Former California wide receiver Demetris Robertson announced Saturday that he will transfer to the University of Georgia.

Robertson made the announcement in a video. “I’m staying home. Go Dogs,” Robertson said.

The Bulldogs pursued Robertson when he was a five-star recruit at Savannah Christian, but he chose the Golden Bears. Robertson announced last month that he was leaving Cal to transfer to another school.

In 2015, Robertson was an AJC Super 11 selection leading to his senior season.

In 14 games at Cal, Robertson caught 57 passes for 837 yards, and seven of the catches were for touchdowns. He also returned 10 kicks for 202 yards and had two rushes for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Robertson missed the final 10 games of the 2017 season because of an injury and was awarded a medical redshirt after the season ended.

Some media reports, including from Jeff Sentell of DawgNation, stated that Robertson will apply for a hardship waiver that will request immediate eligibility. Otherwise, Robertson will have to sit out the 2018 season.
